Advantage Multi is a medication indicated for dogs and cats for the treatment of flea infestations and lice control. This medication is a combination of two drugs with the generic names imidacloprid and moxidectin. While moxidectin is a parasiticide, imidacloprid is an insecticide.
Advantage Multi is also indicated for the treatment of roundworms, whipworms and hookworms in dogs and cats, as well as ear mites in cats. This product works in two ways. The first drug Imidacloprid is effective against flea infestations. It attacks the nervous system of fleas, which causes paralysis and ultimately, death.
The second drug moxidectin is effective against hookworms, roundworms, heartworms and whipworms. It also attacks the nerve transmissions of the parasite, resulting in its paralysis and death.
Side effects of Advantage Multi

Other side effects that would warrant a visit to the vet include lethargy or hyperactivity, reduced appetite, prolonged periods of sleep, agitation, or other behavioral changes, constant pacing, excessive grooming, increased drooling within 1 hour of applying the product, and increased coughing or excessive thirst.
Serious and rare side effects that you must look out for include salivation, depression, panting, tremors, and uncoordinated movement. The animal’s coat may also temporary seem oily, matted, or stiff after application.
Dosage of Advantage Multi
